Horses that belong to one owner or are under one trainer, running in the same race are "coupled" together so that when you bet on one, you also get the other. Simply put, two horses running as one.

Coupled entry horses appear as follows:

• 1
• 1A 
  or
• 2
• 2B etc.

 

Scratches:  If one of the coupled horses scratches and the other one races and loses, there is no refund.  However, if both horses are scratched, bets are refunded.

Matchups are determined by horse name. Track coupling is irrelevant towards determining the winner of a matchup.
