What is a Sit N Go Tournament (SNG)?

You are here

Sit N Go (SnG) tournaments begin when a set number of player have registered instead of at a set time.  Most SnG tournaments are single table tournaments, meaning that the tournament starts when the table is full, but some SnGs will have multiple tables and you need to make it through to the final table, just like a scheduled tournament.

Because these tournaments begin when enough players have registered, they tend to run much more often than regular tournaments, so it is always easy to find a game.  In most cases, you only have to beat the other players sitting at your table, so it's also a great way to learn how to play tournaments, or even poker in general without risking too much money and increasing your odds of winning a prize.

There are a few different types of SnG tournaments on offer:

  • Regular SnGs - These are your basic SnG tournaments.  They have 7 minute blind level increases.
  • Turbo SnGs - These have a faster blind structure than regular SnGs with 5 minute blind level increases.
  • Super Turbo SnGs - These games are even faster with 3 minute blind level increases.  If you like a fast and furious game, these are for you!
  • Double Up SnGs - These SnG's come with a twist.  Half of the players receive double their buy-in back.  So for a $10 Double Up SnG, you only need to make it to 5th place and you will win $20.

Sit N Go tournaments have their own section in the game lists to make them easy to find.  They fill up quickly so get in early to secure your seat and your chance to win!
